1.1 1 xml info:srw/schema/1/mods-v3.2 Examining the role of red background in magnocellular contribution to face perception Awasthi B author Williams M A author Friedman J author 2016 en This study examines the role of the magnocellular system in the early stages of face perception, in particular sex categorization. Utilizing the specific property of magnocellular suppression in red light, we investigated visually guided reaching to low and high spatial frequency hybrid faces against red and grey backgrounds. The arm movement curvature measure shows that reduced response of the magnocellular pathway interferes with the low spatial frequency component of face perception. This finding provides behavioral evidence for magnocellular contribution to non-emotional aspect of face perception. exported from refbase (https://refbase.nfshost.com/show.php?record=81), last updated on Thu, 04 Feb 2016 12:48:07 +0000 text https://peerj.com/articles/1617 https://refbase.nfshost.com/files/awasthi/2016/81_Awasthi_etal2016.pdf https://peerj.com/articles/1617 10.7717/peerj.1617 Awasthi_etal2016 PeerJ PeerJ 2016 continuing periodical academic journal 4 e1617 2167-8359 1
